Breaking Myths One day at a time
The societal damage and peer pressure that we all go through, has everlasting damage to our body and every cell in it.
It's so funny how we are conditioned to believe that a certain body type is more acceptable than the other.
Being thin is NOT the ultimate goal…… spoiler alerts my friends.
Being thin doesn’t equal being healthy, or
being fat doesn’t equal being unhealthy.
Every body, every cell, every blood type is unique so why do we have to fit into one stereotypical mentality.
Entire time while growing up, I was always compared to being thin. I thought for the longest period, being thin was my goal and tried every diet and waist reduction techniques(sighhhh) but, today when you know better, you do better.
“Remember, people who speak about your body image, have insecurities within their own body, and it's reflected on you”
Thin, fat, short, tall, skinny, bony, broad, petite is all body type jargon that is utterly BS.
Your body doesn’t care what your body looks like from the outside, but the workings of it from the inside.
The same with a car analogy, a beautiful car with a shitty engine will not take you far, it will break down every step of the way. That’s why you go for a powerful, strong, reliable, long-lasting engine. If we take care of our car, why can't we honor and respect the body/ skin we are born in.
Recently, I have had clients come to me and say, “Oh I am fat and that’s why I can't get pregnant” or “oh I am fat, that’s why I have menstrual pain” or “Im thin, and workout so why can’t I get pregnant” this saddens my heart and upsets me on how women have categorized themselves as. We are super beings and with so much potential, but burdened by vanity. We are so busy taking care of how we appear, we have forgotten to see what our cells/ hormones need.
Let us break the myth here –
Being thin – doesn’t mean you will get pregnant soon and carry the baby full term, in the same manner
Being fat – doesn’t mean you will have difficulty getting pregnant and have a difficult birth.
It's all dependent and correlated to your hormone health.
Our hormones play a vital role in our body, they regulate our metabolism, immunity, energy, mood, reproductive health, sex life, skin/hair health, bone health and so much more.
WE need to nourish our body with the right nutrients which are obtained from whole foods. Hydrate Our body with water and mineralize it with electrolytes. Give it movement and sunlight. Eat good fats and avoid adulterated hydrogenated fats. Have protein and fiber in every meal. ( every person is unique, thus nutrition needs of every individual is different and body specific)
Starvation / restrictive diet/switching from one diet to another, is only going to make you crave more food. It’s just a similar principle when you tell a baby – “do not touch this!”, the baby will definitely “touch it”. So, if you go into starvation mode and restrict your body, your body thinks, “it’s a famine state and the next time I see food I will devour everything”, Thus, begins the process of binge eating.
I always say, “small changes in nutrition and lifestyle make the biggest difference”. Don’t remove things from your daily nutrition but what can I add to improve it better, ask me how!!!
Our bodies are designed to reproduce, we need to nourish our reproductive hormones (whether you want a baby or not). This must be from the time you hit puberty until the day you bid adios.
After all, "A fertile healthy body is as important as a fertile healthy soil"
So today, instead of jumping into the next bandwagon or following a celebrity because of the latest “diet trend” or seeing a dress and wanting to fit into or work towards a particular body image. Step back and think, is this what my body needs, is this what my hormones need. If I am 1 in an 8 billion, I am unique, why should my nourishment be common.
If you are ready to nourish yourself as per your hormones, let us get in touch and let me help you design a unique nutrition protocol just for your body, your hormones.
